NYC perFormance Training

Jonah is currently accepting a limited amount of clients for in-person or online 1 on 1 performance training. A high-performance model of fitness that incorporates technology and resources typically only available to Elite Athletes in American Team Sport. This product focuses on client longevity and performance. Price is dependent on client needs. For inquiries please email or book a discovery call with Jonah.

InitiaL testing

The following tests are recommended, but not required. The results are closely analyzed for specific physiological systems that may be operating sub-optimally. Note some of these services require out of pocket cost.

Dexa Body Composition
Scan

  • Dual-energy absorptiometry (DEXA) is the most accurate method for body composition analysis trusted by research and elite sports labs across the world

  • Quantifies Lean Mass, Fat Mass, Bone Mass

  • Results used to monitor body composition and determine any concerning asymmetries in muscle mass or bone density

  • Bone or muscle mass asymmetries will be addressed via specific training modalities

Full Comprehensive Bood Work Panel

  • Blood work is suggested bi-annually to ensure biochemical physiology is in an ideal state to adapt to the stress of training and life

  • Results will be analyzed for nutrient deficiencies for supplementation

Neuromuscular Assessment

  • A range of neuromuscular tests are conducted on a laboratory grade force-plate to quantify distinct bio-motor qualities and asymmetries

  • Assessments include maximum strength, power, reactivity, isometric strength in key joint angles, and force-velocity profiling

  • Results are utilized to identify underlying neuromuscular limitations that could be contributing to sub-optimal performance

Gait Analysis
(if applicable)

  • Pressure mapping and microchip infused insoles gauge an athletes stride kinematics and foot based gait line

  • Results help indicate which aspects of the muscular skeletal systems are being exposed to high levels of stress

  • Often previous injuries cause long-lasting changes in gait patterns that can only be discovered through pressure mapping technology

  • Data is closely analyzed to determine ideal cleat / shoe choice for each individual athlete

Metabolic Testing

  • A treadmill step test is conducted to a gauge metabolic fitness

  • Volume of Oxygen, Heart Rate, Breathing Frequency, Tidal Volume, Local Muscle Oxygen Consumption are all recorded

  • Real-time biomechanics are measured via lower limb accelerometers and IMU mounted shoe in-soles

  • Results include VO2max, lactate thresholds, lung analysis, and cardiovascular function

Monitoring / Training Technology

The following technologies are tools Jonah has extensive experience with from his time in an NBA / NFL environment. The equipment is utilized alongside those previously mentioned to closely monitor the physiological cost and response of EVERY training session.

Sleep Tracking System

  • Wearable sleep devices help quantify sleep duration and quality, which are key determinants of focus and performance throughout the day

  • Bio-metric data from the devices is analyzed on a weekly basis to ensure clients are properly adapting to training

Weekly Fatigue Testing

  • The latest sport science testing technology is incorporated to assess clients weekly fatigue and adaptive state

  • Adjusting training prescription based on fatigue monitoring has been shown to lead to 3x greater adaptive signaling for the same hours spent training

  • Assessments include weekly Heart Rate Variability, Jump Testing, Muscle Force-Velocity Analysis, etc.

Continuous Glucose Monitor
(if applicable)

  • Continuous glucose monitors constantly monitor glucose (blood sugar) levels throughout entire day and night

  • Glucose monitoring provides information about an individual's metabolic response to specific foods, physical activity and lifestyle choices

  • Data is actioned to optimize energy levels, exercise intensity and recovery

Blood Flow Restriction Set (Recommended)

  • Blood Flow Restriction Training (BFR) restricts the venous return of deoxygenated blood causing blood pooling within a muscle

  • The hypoxic environment has been proven to aid in muscle growth, growth hormone production, and muscle fiber activation

  • BFR has been linked to enhanced recovery through the removal of waste and inflammatory by products

  • BFR produces similar adaptations to heavy strength training while using lighter loads which is beneficial for reducing the recovery cost or when high loads are contraindicated
